I chose an article that is about No Child Left Behind. This is something that I carry little knowledge about and have been hearing about. Most of what I hear is negative in terms of its effectiveness. I also hear that it is a great idea because it is a program that is actively trying to do things that encourage teachers, students, administrators, and anyone else involved in the educational system to raise the efficiency level of all students. One major criticizm that I have heard and agree with is the government's practice of tying good test scores to possible funding. In my thinking this is a bad idea because if a school might be underperforming then it may be possible that they need money for various types of educational materials. I can also see the other point of view that is based on performance. If a school performs well then they could receive funding. It is a complex issue that cannot be solved hastily.
